Experience:
- Gary is the founder, principal broker, and president of Highland Commercial. Over the past 30 years, Gary has represented both buyers and sellers in the acquisition and disposition of over $600 million in land and commercial real estate. Much of Gary’s brokerage focuses on complex or troubled properties, including short sales and bank-owned properties. He has also done considerable work in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, including Section 363 sales, Chapters 7 and 11 trustee work, and working for court-appointed receivers. Over the course of his bankruptcy work, Gary has worked for both local and national law firms and has testified before all of the current bankruptcy judges in Utah.
- In addition to his brokerage activities, Gary has brokered financing in the last 30 years for over $800,000,000 in commercial real estate. Since 2001, Gary has been the exclusive broker for permanent financing for Woodbury Corporation, one of the region’s largest commercial developers. Gary’s non-real estate hobbies include fishing, slot canyon hiking, and searching for Anasazi ruins in Southern Utah.

Experience:
- Since 1997, Dave has worked at Highland Commercial as a specialist in analyzing and transacting land, ranch, and commercial properties. In addition to his brokerage work, Dave is the president and founder of Anderson Appraisal Group, a commercial real estate appraising company. As an appraiser, Dave has appraised over $1 billion of all types of land and commercial properties. Dave’s appraisal clients (including developers, lenders, governmental entities (city, state, and federal), law firms, and Fortune 100 financial institutions) have all come to rely on his expertise and accuracy. His appraisal skills merge well with Highland’s property brokerage arm and give him a good feel for emerging real estate values and trends. In over ten years, Dave has transacted over $75 million in commercial property, farms, ranches, and land. Nights and weekends find Dave hunting for bear, trail running, fishing, or doing all of the above with his wife and three kids.

Experience:
- Dan has worked at Highland Commercial for seven years, taking a break in 2005 to get his law degree. While in law school, Dan completed internships with Holland and Hart, the Utah Fourth District Court, and the White House Office of Administration in Washington, D.C. During his internships, he worked on projects and cases involving real estate contract litigation, EPA Brownfield cleanup, Freedom of Information Act litigation, and government office leases. In addition to the standard legal training, Dan took courses in real property conveyance, corporate and real estate finance, and water law. As an agent for Highland Commercial, he has managed the purchase and sale of both minor and major transactions involving contract negotiation, property research, title issues, creation of marketing materials, advertising, due diligence, and closing. When out of the office, Dan enjoys golfing, fishing for cutthroat trout, and chasing his one-year-old daughter around the house.

Experience:
- Heidi has worked in commercial financing at Highland since 2004. Prior to moving to Highland, she worked for three years in the commercial leasing legal department of Woodbury Corporation. At Highland, Heidi’s experience with commercial leases and tenants has been essential to her role in the commercial financing process. She is currently responsible for creating rent rolls, ordering third party reports (surveys, appraisals, environmental reports, etc.), gathering financial information from clients, obtaining estoppels from tenants, and assisting with loan closings. In her five years at Highland, Heidi has processed over $400 million in commercial loans, including loans on office buildings, regional malls, strip centers, and medical buildings. Heidi’s personal passions include volleyball, basketball, and exploring canyon trails with her daughter and husband.

Experience:
- During his six years as a real estate agent, Mike has focused on helping small businesses find properties that meet their specific needs. Among his past clients are a local printing company, a fencing contractor, and a network of therapists. In coordinating the marketing of Highland’s larger properties, Mike has helped build the Highland Commercial database of qualified buyers. In addition to his brokerage activities, Mike has been a commercial appraiser for three years. As an appraiser, he has worked on hotels, gas stations, mountain ranches, residential subdivisions, residential and commercial land, and retail properties. When away from the office, Mike can be found playing with his two-year old son or competing in professional sand volleyball tournaments.
